With versatile options for veggies and spice levels, it offers bold flavors and a comforting texture to bring warmth and richness to your table.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef and Marinade

  • 300g beef strips, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (natural)
  • 1 tbsp vegetarian Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (natural)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Sauce and Cooking

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp natural gelling agent
  • 1/4 cup water

Noodles and Garnishes

  • 200g rice noodles or egg-free noodles
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Vegetables (optional): bell peppers, snap peas, broccoli florets, shredded carrots, or bok choy

Instructions

  1. Prepare and Marinate the Beef: Slice the beef thinly against the grain to maximize tenderness. In a bowl, combine soy sauce (natural), vegetarian Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar (natural), minced garlic, and apple cider vinegar. Toss the beef in this mixture and let it marinate while preparing the other ingredients.
  2. Cook the Noodles: Boil the rice noodles according to the package instructions until soft but still springy. Drain and rinse briefly with cold water to stop the cooking process and prevent sticking. Set aside to soak up the sauce later.
  3. Make the Sticky Sauce: Heat the sesame oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant. Pour in the marinade mixture along with water and sprinkle the natural gelling agent. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens to a sticky consistency that coats the back of a spoon.
  4. Cook the Beef and Combine: Add the marinated beef to the pan and cook quickly over high heat until browned but still juicy. Toss in the drained noodles and any optional vegetables. Stir everything together thoroughly, ensuring all ingredients are evenly coated with the luscious sauce.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove the pan from heat. Sprinkle chopped green onions on top and serve immediately while warm and sticky for the best flavor and texture experience.

Notes

  • Slice beef thinly for faster cooking and tender bites.
  • Adjust the amount of natural gelling agent to achieve your preferred sauce stickiness.
  • Use fresh garlic for a sharper and more vibrant aroma.
  • Do not overcook the noodles; follow package instructions carefully to maintain texture.
