Description

Creamy Cajun Cream Cheese Alfredo Bowties is a rich and flavorful plant-based pasta dish featuring smoky turkey bacon, plant-based cream cheese, and a lively Cajun seasoning. Perfectly creamy yet light, this dish is quick to prepare and ideal for cozy dinners or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta and Protein

  • 8 oz bowtie pasta
  • 4 slices smoked turkey bacon, chopped

Sauce and Seasonings

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 4 oz plant-based cream cheese
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural)
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (natural)

Garnish

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the Bowtie Pasta: Start by boiling the bowtie pasta in salted water until al dente, usually around 9 to 11 minutes. Drain and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water which will come in handy for adjusting the sauce consistency later.
  2. Prepare the Smoked Turkey Bacon: While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the smoked turkey bacon and cook until crispy, about 4 to 5 minutes, then remove and set aside on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  3. Build the Cajun Cream Cheese Alfredo Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce heat and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Next, whisk in plant-based cream cheese, vegetable broth, vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural), Cajun seasoning, and a splash of lemon juice (natural). Stir continuously until the cream cheese melts smoothly into a creamy sauce.
  4. Combine and Toss: Add the cooked pasta and smoked turkey bacon back into the skillet. Toss everything gently to coat the pasta in the sauce uniformly. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of reserved pasta water to loosen it up to your desired creaminess.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Finish by sprinkling chopped fresh parsley on top for color and freshness. Serve immediately while warm and creamy.

Notes

  • Cook pasta al dente to retain a slight bite and avoid mushiness.
  • Use reserved pasta water to adjust sauce thickness without diluting flavor.
  • Toast Cajun seasoning gently in the skillet to release more aroma and depth.
  • Let the sauce rest a minute off heat to thicken perfectly before mixing with pasta.
  • Add fresh herbs last to preserve their brightness and color without wilting.
